Capdellà is a small village in the municipality of Calvia located on the southern slopes of Puig de sa crane, 115 feet high. A two-mile road connects the village with Calvia. Puigpunyent also communicates with through Galilee, climb the Coll de Andratx and Peguera Esteve down between Vic and Muller are the Puig des Revell. These three mountain roads are recommended to fully enjoy breathtaking views over the terms of Calvia and Andratx.
The imposing presence of the Puig de Galatzó, of 1027 meters high, dominates the rural landscape of the town, which was built between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries by workers of the old mansions in the area. Formed by a small village and some scattered houses, currently has a population of about one thousand inhabitants, including many foreigners who have chosen this quiet place as a place of residence. In the center of town is the Carmelite church built during the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. It also highlights the Bar Nou, a meeting of the town and a must for many tourists on excursions in the area, whether on foot, bicycle or car. This popular restaurant serves Majorcan cuisine and specializes in shrimp.
On the outskirts of town, highlights some possessions. On the road are Peguera and Son Son Vic Vic Nou Vell, on the road to the farm stands Calvià Ses Algorfa and on the road to Galilee are located Marti, Fonts Ufanes the main attraction. Also in the Galilee road are the houses of Galatzó, antique building which was owned by Ramon Burgues-Safortesa i Fuster, Earl of Formiguera, one of Mallorca's most powerful seventeenth century. Following a legend of the nineteenth century, inspired by the legend of Count Arnau de Catalunya, the Earl of Formiguera became the Comte Mal, a character convicted of cruelty to ride forever every night of the year on a black horse in flames .
Municipality of Calvia:
Location: located in the western part of the island, adjoining the capital, it is the biggest municipality of Mallorca and the pioneer of the Balearic tourism. Considered one of the municipalities that better combine progress and environment, it splits up into two areas: the inland, with Calviá and Es Capdellà, centres of population with more antiquity and tradition; and the coast, where the holiday activity of Peguera, Magalluf and Palma Nova is concentrated. It also has some nice residential areas such as Costa d'en Blanes, Portals Nous with its famous fancy Port Portals, Bendinat, Sol de Mallorca, Santa Ponsa with its famous golf courses and marina, El Toro, Costa de la Calma.
