There are nights that simply belong to summer, and others that, from their very first edition, seem destined to become a tradition.

This summer, we had the opportunity to attend ATLAS Vol. I, the new event hosted by Club de Mar-Mallorca, which brought together nearly 600 people to celebrate something deeply connected to the identity of the island: the Mediterranean, Palma and our way of coming together around the sea.

A name inspired by Mallorca’s historya

ATLAS pays tribute to the legendary Catalan Atlas and to the cartographic tradition that established Palma as an important reference point in the Mediterranean.

There could hardly have been a more fitting starting point for a celebration born by the sea. Just as those maps once traced routes and connected territories, ATLAS is now beginning a journey of its own, with the ambition of becoming an annual event.

Mallorcan tradition was present from the very beginning of the evening, with the Ball de Bot and the Escola de Música i Danses de Mallorca, in a setting that brought together the island’s roots and the new chapter of Club de Mar-Mallorca.

A night by the Mediterranean

From the welcome cocktail at Muelle 1000 to the end of the evening at Mar Salada, ATLAS moved through different settings and rhythms.

Gastronomy also had a distinctly Mallorcan character, with creations by Santi Taura and Tomeu Arbona, alongside Grupo Azotea, Cantina Grill, Bodegas Ferrer and Saltao de Mar.

As night fell, the sea itself became part of the stage. Live music, performances and a spectacular artistic swimming display in the new pool gradually gave way to an evening that inevitably ended on the dance floor.

Mallorca, more than a place

Those of us who experience Mallorca know that the island is much more than its landscapes. It is also its history, its traditions, its relationship with the Mediterranean and, above all, the people and encounters that are part of life here.

ATLAS Vol. I managed to bring many of these elements together in a single evening.

A beautiful way to begin saying goodbye to summer and the start of a new tradition that we hope to share again next year.
